Job Description

Project Finance Officer is a professional responsible for managing the financial aspects of a specific project within an organization. Their primary role involves budgeting, financial analysis, and ensuring that the project remains within budget and meets financial objectives. They often collaborate with project managers, accountants, and other team members to track expenses, allocate funds, and report on financial progress. Additionally, Project Finance Officers may be involved in financial risk assessment, securing funding, and optimizing financial strategies to support successful project outcomes. Strong financial acumen, analytical skills, and attention to detail are essential qualities for this role.

Qualification & Experience:
  • Education: MBA in finance is required.
  • Financial Expertise: Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, financial analysis, and financial modeling.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex financial data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and compliance requirements.
  • Project Management: Familiarity with project management concepts and methodologies is a plus.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in financial software and tools, such as Microsoft Excel and financial management software.
  • Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to address financial challenges and optimize project finances.
  • Time Management: Effective time management skills to meet project deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
Duties & Responsibilities:

Scope of work includes, but is not limited to the following:

  • Financial Planning: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring that they align with project goals and objectives.
  • Financial Analysis: Perform in-depth financial analysis, including cost-benefit analysis and financial forecasting, to support decision-making.
  • Budget Management: Monitor project expenses and income, making adjustments as needed to ensure projects stay within budget.
  • Funding and Financing: Identify and secure funding sources, such as grants, loans, or investments, to support project initiatives.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare regular financial reports and updates for project stakeholders, management, and external parties.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments related to project finances and develop strategies to mitigate financial risks.
  • Compliance: Ensure that financial activities and reporting comply with relevant regulations, policies, and accounting standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, accounting teams, and other stakeholders to coordinate financial aspects of projects.
  • Cost Control: Implement cost control measures to optimize project spending and improve financial efficiency.

Additional Responsibilities:

This includes but not limited to the following:

  • Generally aware of best practices and business/industry trends in finance.
  • Participate in VC/audio calls along with your manager and record the minutes as required.
