Job Description

As a Chemist working in lipid-based nanoparticle synthesis, you will play a crucial role in the design, development and optimization of lipid-based nanoparticle formulations. You will work closely with a team of scientists and researchers to contribute to the creation of novel nanocarriers for drug delivery and other applications. Your expertise will be pivotal in advancing our understanding of lipid-based systems and translating this knowledge into tangible solutions that address critical challenges in medicine and technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and execute experiments to synthesize lipid-based nanoparticles using various techniques, including solvent evaporation, emulsion methods, micro fluidics and self-assembly.
  • Formulate lipid-based nanoparticle compositions tailored for specific applications, such as targeted drug delivery, gene therapy and diagnostics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new lipid-based nanoparticle formulations based on project goals and requirements.
  • Optimize nanoparticle synthesis protocols by systematically adjusting parameters such as lipid composition, solvent ratios, surfactant types and process conditions.
  • Characterise nanoparticle physicochemical properties using analytical techniques such as Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), zeta potential measurements, electron microscopy and spectroscopic methods.
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data to draw meaningful conclusions and make informed recommendations for further experimentation.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in lipid nanoparticle research and contributes innovative ideas to enhance the company's technology portfolio.
  • Maintain accurate and organized laboratory records, including experiment protocols, results, observations and conclusions.
  • Contribute to the preparation of scientific publications, presentations and patent related to lipid-based nanoparticle research.
  • Ensure compliance with safety guidelines and protocols in the laboratory environment.
Qualifications:
  • Master's or Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in the synthesis and characterization of lipid-based nanoparticles.
  • Strong understanding of lipid chemistry, nanoparticle self-assembly, and physicochemical properties.
  • Proficiency in various nanoparticle characterization techniques, such as DLS, zeta potential, TEM, SEM, and spectroscopic methods.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis and experimental design.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot experimental challenges.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and present scientific findings.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining accurate laboratory records.
  • Prior experience with microfluidics, scale-up processes, or industrial applications is a plus.
  • Demonstrated track record of scientific publications and presentations is advantageous.
